DescriptionWorking in Northern BC and now Saskatchewan, Lomak is a company that is progressive, very safety driven and family oriented. We are currently recruiting a Dispatcher to join our team in Carrot River, SK. Reporting to the Terminal Manager, the Dispatcher is a key player in the successful operation of the company, responsible for all day-to-day dispatch operations of the terminal. Dispatch is also responsible for promoting health and safety awareness to all employees.DutiesDevelop and maintain positive working relationships with drivers and customers Strive to make the dispatch system as efficient as possible. Include drivers as part of the team in order to utilize equipment to a maximum Identify opportunities and improve performance of operations through continuous improvement initiatives Ensure drivers are operating within the National Safety Code Hours of Service Regulations Ensure drivers have been allowed adequate time to be well rested before their next shift Responsible for organizing weekend work when required by customer and be available on these occasions Ensure drivers are scheduled appropriately, driver absences are entered daily, and payroll submission is completed on time Develop driver schedules as far in advance as possible Process driver paperwork in a timely fashion, ensuring information is forwarded to the Terminal Manager for any required approvals, and to administrative staff for further processing Review on a daily basis, the projected load counts by mill with the Terminal Manager. Reasons for any variances from planned volumes should be explained Participate in weekly Operations Meetings Will be required to be on-callQualificationsTeam player Strong organizational skills Self-motivated Leadership & effective communication skills Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and good time management Dependable, with the ability to problem solve Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Dispatch experience preferred but not required Class 1 or 3 Driver’s License preferred but not requiredBenefitsSalary to be determined based on knowledge and experience of the job.
