Since its foundation in 1970, Portage has helped thousands of people regain control of their lives through specialized addiction rehabilitation programs for adolescents, adults, pregnant women and mothers with young children, substance abusers with mental health problemPortages treatment approach is based on the therapeutic community in its many centers in the Atlantic, Quebec and Ontario.Under the supervision of the Director of center, the Clinical Counsellor is responsible for the education and rehabilitation of users with the intervention programs established for the rehabilitation of the individual and their reintegration into society. The Clinical Counsellor applies education techniques using acts of daily life, organizing, coordinating and leading activities that are planned within the units to ensure learning and the acquisition of attitudes and appropriate behavior.RESPONSABILITIES· Ensure that the quality of care provided is appropriate and consistent with the policies and procedures within the organization;· Host and integrate users in the unit of life, according to the established procedure;· Assist in the evaluation of all users needs;· Evaluate the users environment to match their needs and promotes rehabilitation and well-being;· Contribute to the development of the intervention plan;· Participate in the pursuit of individual therapeutic goals as determined in the intervention plan;· Organize and facilitate rehabilitation activities based on the needs of users and according to established standards and procedures;· Participate in the rehabilitation of users through the moments of daily life;· Support users outside the institution, if applicable;· Write observation reports, evaluation reports and behavioral syntheses;· Participate in the orientation and training of new staff and students;· Perform other related duties at the request of his immediate superior.If you identify with the following profile: · Hold a college degree (DEC) or a university degree in addiction (or in the process of completing it);· Have 1-2 years’ experience in a similar position;· Relevant experience with the drug addicts clientele in a community setting or therapeutic community;· Have a valid driver licence and able to drive a vehicle;· Have a valid CPR/1st Aid training certificate;· Have experience in intervention and crisis management;· Have demarcated skills in interpersonal relationships and teamwork.Permanent full time position, 37.5 hours/week, schedule: flexible hours-evenings/weekendsAdditional Information: · Holidays: 4 weeks per year· Statutory holidays: 13 days per year· Sickdays: 7 days per year· RRSP and collective health insurance planDepuis sa fondation en 1970, Portage a aidé des milliers de personnes à reprendre leur vie en main grâce à ses programmes spécialisés en réadaptation de la toxicomanie offerts aux adolescents, aux adultes, aux femmes enceintes et aux mères avec de jeunes enfants, aux toxicomanes souffrant de problème de santé mentale.L’approche du traitement de Portage offre est basé sur la communauté thérapeutique dans ses nombreux centres en Atlantique, au Québec et en Ontario.Sous la responsabilité du Directeur de centre, l’intervenant a comme responsabilités d’assurer l’éducation et la rééducation des usagers selon les programmes d’intervention établis, en vue de la réadaptation de l’individu et de sa réinsertion dans la société.
