Job Description

Position Description:

  • Assist in the performance of the mechanical preventative maintenance on the facility and all of the equipment;
  • Responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on various types of equipment to maximize operating reliability.
  • Complete all routine building maintenance such as painting, lighting, and general 5s clean-up.
  • Assist the Maintenance Manager as required.
  • Maintain the correct inventory of spare parts, lubricants, etc
  • Working ‘off-hours’ may be required occasionally.
  • Must have high attention to detail, immediate deadlines and be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • There will also be other maintenance duties as required.
Qualifications:
  • 3 – 5 years of experience in the maintenance department in a manufacturing environment is an asset.
  • Skillfully and efficiently able to maintain and repair production/manufacturing equipment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization and to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work assignments and to complete the work safely.
  • Excellent safety skills required (ie:lockout/tag-out safety procedures, working with electricity, etc)
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment or individually.
  • Good physical capability and a “can do” attitude is a definite asset.
Work Conditions:This is a physical position that requires:
  • Continuous standing for extended periods of time.
  • Some heavy lifting, carrying, and handling of objects.
  • Regular use of hands, wrists, arms, shoulders, bending/stretching, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, walking, pushing/pulling.
  • Repetitive motion and other job-specific requirements.
  • Precise hand/finger movements.
  • Physical Environment:Regular exposure to factors such as temperature fluctuations, moving machinery, loud noise, and dusty environments.
  • Sensory Attention:Need to give close attention to hearing or seeing to work surroundings. Must be able to handle exposure to different smells that may occur in the workplace.
  • Must be able to wear prescribed PPE that the company requires safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots/shoes and respiratory protection (depending upon job), etc.
  • Safety Sensitive Position:This position is a safety-sensitive position and if it is not performed in a safe manner, can cause direct and significant damage to property, and/or injury to the employee and others around them.
Requirements:
  • Proof of Secondary School Diploma if required.
  • A valid driver’s license or transportation is required, as we are not on a bus route.
