Job Description

PEI Business Women’s AssociationResource Assistant, Rural Womens Business Center - Central Bedeque, PEJoin the PEI Business Women’s Association as our Resource Assistant! We are seeking a professional team player with exceptional customer service skills and an interest in supporting women in business. This role is based at PEIBWAs Rural Womens Business Centre in Central Bedeque, with occasional travel required to other PEIBWA sites in Charlottetown and Montague or to community events.The rate of pay is $18-20/hour, with paid time off between Christmas and New Year’s Day.Reporting to the Director of the Rural Womens Business Centre, these are the responsibilities of this position:

  • Work alongside the PEIBWA team to identify the needs of women in the community as we develop programming to fill gaps in service and promote women in business including entrepreneurs, established business owners, students, newcomers, and women working in a variety of sectors.
  • Responsible for opening and closing the Centre which is open from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm Monday to Friday with occasional events taking place after hours.
  • Greet and engage those coming to the Centre, provide a tour of the Centre, ensure sign-in data is collected, collect feedback forms, and answer inquiries in-person, by phone, and by e-mail. Oversee activities taking place in the Centre.
  • Accommodate groups renting space ensuring the table set-up is to their preference, assisting with technology, preparing coffee and tea (when requested).
  • Keep current with events/training/programming being delivered by PEIBWA and our community partners to be able to share this information with those seeking resources.
  • Convey information about PEIBWA programming and services in a professional manner.
  • Assist with managing social media for RWBC feeds including Facebook and Instagram.
  • Assist with organizing and managing events. ie business mixers, training sessions, and ongoing programming.
  • Ensuring space is kept tidy and users are following public health protocols.
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned by the Director of the Rural Womens Business Centre.
Skills and Attributes:
  • Customer services experience. A genuine interest in supporting the business community. Experience owning and/or operating a business would be considered an asset.
  • Ability to multitask in a collaborative work environment, take initiative, and represent the organization professionally.
  • Ability to get along with supervisors and co-workers, respect the leadership of the organization, work harmoniously as part of a team, and deal effectively with situations that involve attitudes, opinions, and feelings of others.
  • Experience in a customer service role and/or working with the public.
  • Well-developed communication skills, oral and written.
  • Possess a good understanding of technology, MS Office, CRM system, and social media platforms. Willingness to learn.
  • Bilingualism would be considered an asset.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer.
