Job Description

Position Location: Switzmalph Childcare Center: Salmon Arm B.C.Reporting To: Director of Education; Daycare ManagerStatus: Fulltime, permanentSalary Range: Based on experienceSummary of Position:The Infant Toddler Early Childhood Educator will provide a quality, caring and supportive childcare program to members of the Switzmalph community that addresses their unique childcare needs, meets all regulatory standards required by federal, provincial, and municipal governments. The IT-ECE will manage and coordinate curricula with staff.This position reports to the Daycare ManagerQualifications / Assets:

  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ITE certification),
  • Current BC License to Practice
  • Documentation in accordance with Community Care Facilities Branch licensing requirements,
  • An understanding of the issues that affect children and their families
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with parents, community members
  • Mature and responsible attitude towards work
  • Willingness to work flexible hours
Responsibilities:
  • Plan, carry out, and assess developmentally appropriate activities and experiences in harmony with the Centre’s philosophy
  • Individualize the curriculum
  • Ensure guidance of children’s behaviour that encourages positive self-concept
  • Ensure the child’s environment is healthy and safe
  • Ensure positive communication with parents
  • Contribute to the on-going operations of the Centre
  • Promote the Centre within the community
