AarKel Tool and Die Inc17 Elm Drive SouthWallaceburg OntMachinist, Small ComponentsThis position is in Wallaceburg OntBASIC RESPONSIBILITIESReporting to and under the direction of the Department Manager, this position is responsible for:The programming, setting-up, and operating of CNC, lathes and grinders for the drilling, boring, turning, reaming, tapping, and facing of various sized metal work pieces during the course of the mould/die build or fabrication of various components for general shop requirements.NATURE AND SCOPEThe position of Machinist, Small Components is an hourly rated position with a work week being comprised of an average of 48 hours per week.Minimum education level preferred is Grade 12 or equivalent. The successful completion of a Certificate of Qualification in Machining or Mould Making, coupled a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in programming, setting up, and operating of CNC, lathes and grinders is preferable.Must: have strong mathematical skills; ability to read and interpret blueprints, mylars; good analytical skills; physical ability to handle all tools, equipment as necessary; familiarity with Fanuc & Allen Bradley controls; and be able to operate overheard crane & hoist systems safely.JOB DUTIESEnters program data into CNC control unit of machining centers for the drilling, boring, turning, reaming, tapping and facing of various sized metal work pieces. Downloads CNC programs from terminal if and when necessaryExamines work piece, selects work holding arrangement, and plans sequence of machining operations.Positions, sets-up, and secures work pieces to table and/or angle plates, using clamps, shims, parallel blocks and bolts.Verifies alignment of work pieces with center of machine spindle.Verifies proper pick-up and does quick dimensional check before proceeding with work to be done.Operate machining center using controls to set feeds, speeds and depth of cut in order to achieve maximum operating efficiencies and quality of workmanship.Maintain cleanliness of machine and machine area.Operate overhead cranes system using chains, eyebolts, slings, etc. as necessary to moved work pieces or other materials when, where, and as required in the safest manner possible.Use and wear the equipment, protective devices and clothing as required by the company.Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the RegulationsIf you require accommodation do to a disability for any part of application or recruitment process please contact the HR departmentJob Types: Full-time, PermanentAdditional pay:
