Job Description

The team at Dana Chatham is strongly committed to the health and safety of all employees, the environment and working together to get the job done.The HR Generalist shall be responsible for promoting a safe and healthy workplace for all employees, contractors, customers and visitors. The HR Generalist will be responsible for recruitment and interviewing, on-boarding and assisting with orientation, payroll and benefit administration, communications, assisting with labor relations, document control and assisting with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 annual auditing.Core Responsibilities:

  • Advertising and recruitment – assisting with the recruitment process, hiring and candidate evaluation.
  • Payroll, Compensation and Benefits – approving weekly hourly timecards, attendance management using ADP and eTIME.
  • Communication and Employee Engagement – providing information in response to employee requests, participate in planning and development of engagement activities
  • Support environmental health & safety culture at all levels of shop floor and support plant EHS objectives and those of the CFT (Cross Functional Team).
  • Keep up to date on the latest compliance obligations and best practices.
  • Develop processes to help assure that proper EHS provisions are incorporated into all jobs performed at the facility, employing techniques of hazard analysis, aspect and impact risk analysis, job safety analyses, safe job procedures and management systems.
  • Develop in conjunction with the HR Manager methodologies for assuring site accountability for HR/EHS specific to disciplinary actions, documentation and follow-up procedures, including Life Safety Rules.
  • Maintain current CPRO documents and database, facilitate document review, development and implementation.
  • Participate in annual Jishuken and SWEAT projects that align with the Corporate HR/EHS objectives.
  • Assist in orientation training specific to Corporate EHS and regulatory requirements
  • Actively participate in the communication of HR/EHS goals and objectives and ensure communication methods are adequate
  • Order equipment, supplies, PPE etc. as requested
  • Other administrative tasks as requested

Requirements:
  • Post-secondary diploma in business administration or Human Resources or 3 or more years in an administrative function
  • ADP Payroll experience an asset
  • Should have knowledge/experience with collective bargaining, grievance arbitration, and conflict resolution
  • Thorough working knowledge of WSIB requirements
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, computer skills.
  • Ability to conduct presentations
Expected start date: 2022-02-01Job Types: Full-time, PermanentSalary: $65,000.00-$70,000.00 per yearAdditional pay:
