Job Description

As a member of the Sales and Marketing team, the Marketing & Design Specialist is responsible for the coordination and development of marketing materials, project management, and completion of Sales & Marketing support materials. Reporting to the Manager Marketing & Design, the role will be instrumental in executing sales and marketing efforts, completing marketing research, building upon current market intelligence, as well as tracking costs and spending to be able to report on marketing ROI.The Marketing & Design Specialist will work closely with the marketing team and across the wider business to drive increased awareness of the AgMedica brands, with a particular focus around developing content and design to support social media and digital marketing campaigns.Major Duties:

  • Always adhere to AgMedica Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to ensure quality and efficacy in all marketing actions and activities.
  • Knowledgeable in the Cannabis Act and its regulations, assisting in ensuring AgMedica adheres to all marketing and advertising rules as set by Health Canada, which provide guidance for product marketing plans, compliance, impact on product launches and client retention; particularly the sections relating to Advertising and Promotion.
  • Work with senior management and a diverse cross-functional team. Employ professional and clear communication practices to maintain a positive and progressive atmosphere across marketing, sales, and customer service departments.
  • Be able to write & design clear marketing copy for webpages, blog posts, newsletter, social media, ad copy, email campaigns etc.
  • Coordinating go-to market marketing readiness education materials by facilitating stakeholder reviews, working with vendors, managing the process to final material completion.
  • Performing regular market research and continuing to build on current market intelligence.
  • Add value by maintaining a cohesive brand; you may work on different brands at a time and ensure the consistency and standardization of the voice and content.
  • Work closely with the Manager Marketing and Design to regularly update marketing calendar and collect metrics on Return on Investment.
  • Regularly edit and provide feedback on content.
  • Review proofs for advertising and promotional materials/resources, including website, social media, print media, presentation decks, events, and trade show materials.
  • Act as a point of contact with our field sales agency partners to maintain an accurate store and customer data base.
  • Where necessary, play a role in coordinating product packaging, assisting with the development of artwork and the management of the printing process.
  • Take a leading role in coordinating the sourcing and distribution of all support materials as needed by the Field Sales function.
  • Review proofs for advertising and promotional materials/resources, including website, social media, print media, presentation decks, events, and trade show materials
  • Managing daily administrative tasks to ensure marketing activities run smoothly.
  • Performing other duties and responsibilities as requested.
Other Duties:
  • Work in partnership with the wider Sales & Marketing team, working towards individual and team goals, share in performance reviews and career development.
  • Master several tasks and timelines at once, while being organized and paying attention to detail.
  • Proactively trouble shoot, problem solve and complete projects independently with appropriate direction and feedback.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Comply with all HR policies including confidentiality and non-disclosure.
Qualifications:
  • Post Secondary in Marketing and Advertising, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of content writing experience within an enterprise level organization.
  • Previous graphic design experience is a definite advantage.
  • Strong computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Adobe Creative Suite and familiarity with integrating various email campaign and social media technologies to support marketing efforts.
  • Demonstrate experience producing content & design for webpages, blog posts, newsletters, social media posts, ad copy, email campaigns, medical brochures etc.
  • Possess excellent written communication, editing and proofreading skills.
  • Possess effective time management and ability to prioritize assignments. A self starter mentality and ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrate necessary comprehension of the English language
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in writing & design of cannabis, pharmaceuticals and/or medical products/services.
Working Conditions: While carrying out the responsibilities of the job, the following work environment characteristics are typical of the setting the employee will encounter:
  • Flexibility to either work from home or in the office depending on the needs for the business.
  • Regular interactions with various departments within the Grow facility will also be necessary.
  • Work regular hours; nevertheless, flexibility may be required to work outside of these hours when the needs of the job require it.
