Working at VON is more than just a job, it is a career that impacts how Canadians live.Job Summary:This position works closely with the Manager, OD and elearning to help deliver VON’s talent management strategy to all levels of the organization through designing and implementing learning programs, retention strategies and leadership development.Our Organizational Development Specialist is crucial to the development and administration of our employees nationally. From education programs, engagement and retention to performance management, this position will be especially important in ensuring our employees have all the necessary tools to succeed.   • Research current practice in OD for Recognition, Retention and Leadership Development programs for both onsite and remote teams
  • Create training evaluations and synthesize the themes from those evaluations
  • Utilize e-learning platforms to elevate the learning experience
  • Support the development of training and OD strategies, implement initiatives to improve organizational effectiveness
  • Support engagement initiatives across the organization
  • Support VON Corporate Orientation tools and onboarding processes to create a positive new hire experience
  • Stay current in the emerging fields of blended learning, elearning, performance management and other HR Developments
  • Maintain and interpret policies, procedures and programs designed to ensure the effective delivery of organizational development initiatives
You Have….
  • A Post-Secondary Education in Organizational Development, Business Administration or equivalent employment experience and education
  • A Minimum of 5 years in OD or HR specific to talent development, learning initiatives
  • The CHRP or CPHR designation or in process
  • Attention to detail as well as a high level of accuracy and confidentiality
  • Experience in Healthcare or Non-Profit (not a deal breaker, just a nice to have)
  • Proven experience managing multiple priorities and projects to complete tasks with planned and unplanned deadlines

  • Provide advice, guidance and customer service to multiple levels of the organization and vendors using sound judgement, diplomacy and respect at all times
