Job Description

DescriptionCorteva Agriscience has an exciting opportunity for Supply Chain Planner position based in Ontario, Canada.Who are we, and what do we doAt Corteva Agriscience, you will help us grow what’s next. Allocate, monitor, place and position product for maximum NAS profitability in assigned commercial unit for all product lines. Supports planning for commercial unit functions, business plan estimates, treatments, package mix and shipping. Collaborate with Johnston Supply Chain, IO Planning Manager, and other Commercial Unit Planners to improve managed supply and demand planning efficiency and execution. Provide supply direction and visibility to Commercial Units and Sales Support Teams.Lead the Brevant Canola Supply and Acreage Planning process. Identify and develop consistent business process improvements related to seed production planning, reporting and systems. Interface with broader Supply Chain Planning team, Production Operations, Production Research, Parent Seed, and the Commercial Business to develop product level supply plans reliably, profitably and sustainably.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:How will you help us grow It matters to us, and it matters to you!

  • Responsible to allocate, position, monitor, and reposition supply to maximize utilization across areas and Commercial Unit
  • Supports field sales management on business plans, product level estimate collection, treatment and package collection, and shipping
  • Provide supply guidance and work closely with Sales Support teams who execute managed supply activities at the sales rep level
  • Responsible for timely communication of availability, winter production arrival and quality related issues.
  • Work closely with CU technical teams to understand product substitution relationships and serve as a resource for field sales and Sales Support teams
  • Provide input, communicate, and support setting product line targets
  • Responsible for maintaining area product lists and insuring proper authorization is granted for additions to the product list
  • Assist in reconciling CU, area, territory, and provider product line targets to insure accuracy of projection tools and checkbooks
  • Understand and support strategic direction on technology and placement/promotion strategy of new genetics; share and reinforce direction/understanding with Sales Support teams
  • Analyze and share information for effective area decision making
  • Responsible for providing timely and accurate sales, demographic and invoice integrity information to Area Managers
  • Drive and communicate NAS, CU, and area product utilization/delivery targets with field sales team (e.g. surplus, R5 utilization, WP, inventory mix)
  • Development of standardized processes across Commercial Units
  • Execution / monitoring of standardized processes across Commercial Units
  • Proactively seek out, develop, support, implementation of innovation creativity
  • Provide managed supply metrics by territory to promote efficiency and accountability
  • Assist in the development of performance measures and standards, gather feedback, and develop goals for continuous performance improvement
  • Provide analysis around Demand Planning throughout the year
  • Proactively analyze and provide improvement recommendations with regard to supply to CU Leadership teams
  • Work cross-functionally with scheduling, production research, parent characterization, demand planning, volume planner, field operations and plant operations, etc.
  • Partner with Production Research to establish budget yields for our North American Seed Corn acreage plan using robust and leading-edge technology
  • Establish production risk factors with an eye toward product level genetic data, Commercial Team strategies, volume requirements, etc.
  • Effectively communicate and manage acreage plan changes with key stakeholders at each production location
  • Monitor planting and harvest activities through SeedPro and lead/participate in Planting and Harvest Control Towers
  • Communicate new crop production shortfalls as well as the new crop supply picture
  • Lead the Reliable Supply Team
  • Work through questions that FOM's and agronomists might have regarding Quality Plan
  • Approve/Deny any acreage needs by product that fall outside of the Quality Plan limits.
  • Manage North America's Winter Production requests with the global team.
  • Determine green corn movement Rough Cut Capacity Plan.
  • Work on various project teams as needed (minor component blending strategy, IDEA initiative, RCCP Strategy, etc)
QualificationsRequirements:What expertise have you grown What do you bring to the table
  • BA or BS (or equivalent), preferably in agriculture, supply chain, economics or operations
  • 5-7 years of agricultural business experience; supply chain or operations experience
  • Expert level Microsoft Office product experience (Excel, Access, etc)
  • Project management experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to explain detail in a concise way
  • Demonstrated ability to manage through change and organizational challenges to maintain satisfied customers and obtain business goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and manage conflict.
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate orally in a professional and effective manner with strong negotiating capability.
