Job Description

Since 1912, IMW Industries Ltd. (“IMW quot;) has manufactured industrial equipment known for its quality and reliability. Today, IMW is a leading supplier of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) equipment for vehicle fueling and industrial applications. In addition, IMW also offers a series of hydrogen compressors. Position Overview: The Buyer is responsible for providing an uninterrupted flow of materials at the greatest value to meet production schedules, in accordance with IMW Industries #39; documented procedures and instructions.DUTIESamp; RESPONSIBILITIES:Strategic Procurementamp; Supplier Management:

  • Develop and manage strong, long-term relationships with suppliers to ensure reliability and quality.
  • Prepare and manage RFP/RFQs.
  • Oversee warranty claims and manage vendor Nonconformance Reports.
  • Solve purchase order and invoice discrepancies efficiently.
Operational Excellence:
  • Ensure timely availability of materials, parts, and services with a focus on quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Process and manage purchase orders through the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system.
  • Analyze MRP reports to support accurate and strategic purchasing decisions.
  • Manually generate purchase orders for shop floor purchase requisitions as needed.
  • Expedite, track, and coordinate supplier deliveries to meet production schedules.
  • Maintain systems for accurate accounting and usage of all materials.
  • Generate regular purchasing and supplier performance reports.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with internal departments to align procurement activities with organizational goals.
  • Support production, engineering, aftermarket, and quality teams to ensure seamless operations.
Qualityamp; Compliance:
  • Complete all applicable quality records in accordance with company standards.
  • Perform work in compliance with documented policies and procedures.
Healthamp; Safety Responsibilities:
  • Know and understand workplace health and safety rights and responsibilities.
  • Follow safe work procedures and act safely in the workplace at all times.
  • Use the protective clothing, devices, and equipment required for the job.
Additional Information:
  • This position may include other duties as required to support the team and company objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS:EDUCATION:
  • Purchasing Management Association of Canada Certification II or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in purchasing required.
LANGUAGE:
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and written in English.
  • Ability to coordinate with all departments as needed.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
  • Solid experience using ERP/MRP systems (SAP is an asset).
  • Proficient with use of Microsoft Office Suite.
OTHER:
  • Solid knowledge of purchasing practices.
  • Good organizational and communication skills.
  • Have an eye for detail and pride in one’s work.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Must be able to multitask.
  • Must have excellent time management skills and ability to re-prioritize as needed.
