Job Description

Southern Irrigation is actively looking for an Event Planner for our Chilliwack location. The successful candidate should have a strong attention to detail, a good work ethic, and a positive attitude.Job Title: Event PlannerLocation: 44160 Yale Road West, Chilliwack, BCJob purpose: Oversight and execution of planning and coordination of all company events.Key Result Areas

  • Employee and customer events are planned and executed effectively
  • Events and company history are photographed and documented
  • All company events are communicated and published internally
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Plan and organize employee and customer events across all locations. This includes events such as but not limited to:
    • Summer BBQs for each location
    • Christmas Parties for each location
    • Tradeshows
    • Open houses, customer appreciation days and start up launches
    • Corporate meetings
    • Field Days
    • Training Week in multiple locations
    • Anniversaries, weddings, births, bereavements, graduations, retirements etc.
    • Culture committee support
    • Business Awards, golf tournament and other community events
  • Travel to other locations as required (BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario)
  • Report to marketing director and debrief events with event planning committee
  • Execute directions from event planning committee
  • Work with employees in other locations to ensure planning of location specific events
  • Manage budget to ensure alignment with annual plan and provide periodic updates as needed
  • Ensure events are photographed
  • Manage documentation, storage and filing of digital content of events and company history
  • Work with the marketing department to communicate and publish events as required internally and externally

  • A natural forward planner who critically assess own performance
  • Excellent communication and social skills
  • Mature, credible, and comfortable dealing with a wide range of companies and employees
  • Reliable and determined; well-presented and businesslike
  • An empathetic communicator, able to see things from the other person’s point of view
  • Event planning degree / certificate or equivalent practical experience
  • Working experience with social platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and Linkedin
  • Ability to identify areas for improvement and contribute to potential solutions
  • Good time management and organized.
