Job Description

Atmosphere Floors is a local, family-owned, and operated business, specializing in flooring and tile design and expert installation. The Atmosphere team has served the Fraser Valley and Greater Vancouver Area since 2003 and we are known for our sales and installation expertise, outstanding customer focus and lifetime residential installation warranty. As a member of the Atmosphere team, you will be part of a family of dedicated people who are leaders in all aspects of the flooring and tile industry.To continue to support our rapid growth we are seeking a hardworking, disciplined individual to join our team as Freight Coordinator. As a successful candidate you must have a sense of urgency, ability to problem solve, flexible and possess a can-do attitude to go along with your strong work ethic and professional demeanor. You should enjoy a fast-paced ever-changing environment, be task focused and be able to meet deadlines.Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Related Post-secondary degree or designation considered an asset.
  • 2+ Years experience in freight coordination.
  • Experience in the flooring/construction industry considered an asset.
  • Valid Driver’s License (Class 5)
Requirements:
  • Able to adapt to last-minute changes and problem solve effectively
  • Ability to work under pressure, multi-task and prioritize work to meet tight deadlines.
  • Highly organized, detail-focused and goal-oriented
  • Excellent computer skills, comfortable with web-based applications and MS Office
  • Superior listening, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Come to work with a positive attitude

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
  • Coordinating with Project Coordinators, carriers, customs brokers and suppliers to effectively complete each shipment on time.
  • Constant follow up, expediting and tracing.
  • External Freight - Book carrier to pick up and deliver to site once draw confirmed ready. Prepare manifest/BOL/etc for carrier to ensure all items are loaded
  • Internal Freight - Consolidate and prepare pickup list from multiple sources and schedule truck driver and material handler. Notify suppliers of scheduled pick ups and provide hard copy of pick up list and labels to driver.
  • Arrange site deliveries, including contact to third party to verify site offloading procedures. Schedule truck driver and material handler and provide hard copy of delivery list.
  • Minimize storage & freight costs in consideration of off site warehouse product arrivals, truck capacity, Atmosphere resources and third party freight
