We strive to provide our employees with meaningful and challenging work, and an engaging and collaborative environment.Michels Canada headquarters is based in Nisku, Alberta, Canada.DESCRIPTIONMichels Canada is looking for a Traffic Supervisor to join our world-class project team on the Trans Mountain Expansion Project! The successful candidate will be performing a wide range of responsibilities, including overseeing all field related duties to ensure all Traffic Management Plans (TMP) are implemented in accordance to the TMPs. The Traffic Supervisor will work with field operations such as Foreman, Superintendents and Traffic Control Personnel to direct, schedule, and ensure all TMPs are implemented as outlined. This position will be based in Chilliwack, BC, and will be instrumental in the safe execution of one of Canada’s largest energy infrastructure projects.RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customers and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
  • Responsible for moving the safety, environment, and transportation mandate forward, influence the stakeholders and be Michels Canada’s advocate for all related policies and programs.
  • Supervise assigned crews. Schedule and communicate day-to-day and future planning for work activities including: crews, subcontractors, tools and equipment for efficiency and to minimize travel time
  • Engage actively and regularly with internal construction teams and subcontractors to develop, adjust, and modify construction and traffic staging strategies, including identification and escalation of roadblocks when encountered.
  • Coordinate development and delivery of JSA talks promoting Michels Safety and quality expectations.
  • Execute daily time and production reporting to ensure success of the project.
  • Collaborate with foreman to supply equipment and pipe safely and in accordance to TMPs.
  • Review and update the project schedule and attend coordination meetings with internal design and construction teams as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role within the BC Lower Mainland
  • Experience overseeing teams of Traffic Control Workers.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively within a culturally diverse and multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Excellent understanding of Project Management legislation project management skills and experience

  • Demonstrated ability to work cohesively in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment.
  • Must possess exceptional communication skills
  • Present a professional attitude when liaising with all project stakeholders.
  • Experience working within major urban infrastructure projects in the province of British Columbia is an asset.
LANGUAGES
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and through written language (by hand and digitally) in English
