Job Description

Established Developer-Builder based in Chilliwack looking for a VP of Construction to join the team.ABOUT OUR CLIENTOur client is a develop-builder based in Chilliwack; they have a reputation for building quality homes for the community. Recently they have been experiencing massive growth and now they are looking to build on the successes they have experienced by adding a VP of Construction to the team. They are now taking on larger and more complex projects with a focus on delivering the quality they are now known for.ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITYThis builder develops their own projects. This allows them to build a quality product that is desirable and quickly sold in any stage of the housing market. They care about the details and little touches that only a small family business can. Recent and current projects have been in the Fraser Valley. They have grown from renovations and single family developments to townhomes and the future will include condos, towers and full community developments.ABOUT THE POSITIONYou will be an expert at all things construction and will manage projects from pre-construction all the way through to completion. My clients portfolio is forever growing and projects will include multi-family wood-townhomes and further down the line tower development.

  • You will develop action plans for all staff that are on the construction side, regular reviews making sure employees are on track, progressing and happy
  • Maintain a detailed understanding of the forever changing construction market
  • Have a solid network
  • Build trust and respect with the existing team
  • Financial reporting
  • Work with the decision makers to always drive the business in a positive direction
  • Manage the pre-construction process and ensure it is being followed
  • Manage tender process
  • Management and oversight of all projects in construction making sure budgets and schedules are in line
  • Create and update process and systems
THE REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be an experienced construction professional with a solid understanding of the full cycle of construction
  • Must have a track record of building multi-family wood-frame projects in the Lower Mainland
  • Must have held senior positions and managed construction teams
  • The ideal candidate would be an experience PM who either has site experience (Site superintendent) or a good understanding of how a site is managed
  • Need to be able to commute to Chilliwack (expected in the officer or on-site every week)
  • Able to bring process, systems and structure to the team
COMPENSATION
  • Salary range: $150,000 to $200,000
  • Profit share
  • Vacation, 4 weeks
  • RRSP
