Reference # 00555Posted Monday, January 9th, 2023 at 12:00amScope Public Applications AcceptedPosition Annual Giving ManagerDepartment NHH FoundationTerm FulltimeApplication Deadline Friday, February 10th, 2023 at 12:00amROLE OVERVIEWNorthumberland Hills Hospital (NHH) Foundation is currently seeking to hire a full-time Annual Giving Manager.Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Annual Giving Manager will lead the annual giving program to advance the Foundation’s mission in support of Northumberland Hills Hospital.The incumbent will work closely with and play a key role on the team to ensure the Foundation continues to grow and meet its objectives.The Annual Giving Manager will also work with volunteers (Board members, cabinet members, and others), physicians, and other hospital partners to identify corporate and community giving opportunities.The ideal candidate will have solid knowledge of philanthropy or business development and the strategic ability to identify future growth opportunities and emerging potential with new donor groups. Authentic and genuine, with a high degree of emotional awareness, the successful candidate will be intuitive and donor centric, understanding the nuances of donor interactions and in all situations, calibrating to build the strongest donor relationships and sharing the Hospital and Foundation’s stories to further inspire philanthropic support.KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITYThe Annual Giving Manager will champion all aspects of the annual giving program and play a key support role in the leadership gifts program. The incumbent will be responsible for analyzing, planning, goal setting, implementing, monitoring, and tracking various annual program initiatives to ensure the program grows over time.Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Annual Giving Manager will have responsibility as follows:Annual Campaign

  • Provide input into the Operational Plan, in alignment with the Strategic Plan
  • Develop strategies to maximize the results of the annual campaign
  • Monitor campaign progress against the fundraising strategies and modify when necessary
  • Recruit and steward campaign volunteers and committees to realize annual targets and increase giving
  • Initiate, take the lead, and be responsible for activities with the development team
  • Personally cultivate and solicit donors with a goal of retaining and upgrading their gifts
  • Contribute to the development of communication materials, including publications, used in the cultivation, solicitation, acknowledgement, and stewardship of prospects and donors
  • Work closely and collaborate with all members of the staff team to ensure a coordinated approach for donor stewardship, communications and marketing, and annual giving
  • Achieve metrics tied to activities/moves, revenue, retention, upgrades, and meaningful cultivation
Leadership Gifts
  • Provide staff support to the leadership giving program
  • Develop strategies and proposals seeking leadership gift support
  • Participate in capital campaign and committee meetings
  • Document activity within the data information system
Donor Stewardship
  • Working closely with the CEO, ensure meaningful donor stewardship activities are developed and acted upon
Supervisory
  • The incumbent will oversee the work of the annual giving and capital campaign volunteers and committees.
  • The incumbent will supervise the Community Engagement and Special Events Specialist
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
  • A passion to work in a fast-paced, fully integrated fundraising environment and an appreciation for the mission and purpose of the Foundation
  • Post-secondary education in fundraising, business development or a related field, or equivalent combination of experience and training
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge (or other database), Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working in fundraising or business development
  • Experience working with volunteers will be considered an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to build philanthropic relationships with corporations, foundations, and individuals
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Excellent relationship development skills, diplomacy, and tact
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects as well as adjust to changing priorities concurrently while meeting deadlines
  • A high attention to detail and proven research and analytical ability
  • Marketing knowledge/understanding of marketing fundamentals
  • High personal motivation, time-efficiency, adaptability, and positive general attitude
  • The ability to problem-solve, innovate, be creative and a willingness to learn
  • A commitment to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information appropriately and with discretion
  • Able to work within and promote a respectful and collaborative work environment
  • Some evening and weekend work will be necessary.
