Job Description

Summary/ObjectiveManage defined process encompassing all non-recurring events and deliverables associated with the flawless launch of a new product or a version change of an existing product using the CMT Launch Process. Owner of deliverables to meet product launch budget, customers engineering and quality requirements, schedule, manufacturing and financial metrics.Essential Functions

  • Create and manage launch timeline with defined milestones and identified deliverables by internal/external launch team members
  • Oversee and manage deliverables for each functional area per the defined launch process
  • Primary interface between customer team, plant team and corporate PMO to achieve the launch targets: schedule, budget, quality, and manufacturing metrics
  • Primary Interface between CORE and external sub-contractors/vendors with deliverables on the project launch plan
  • Applies or reviews engineering analysis to ensure part design, tool design, materials selection and manufacturing processes will yield acceptable product to fit, form and functional requirements of customer
  • Manage cross-functional team and ensure the necessary skill sets are present for each launch by working with existing resources and the leadership team to identify and address any gaps.
  • Prepare cost sheets for quotations for Commercial Manager
  • Collect data and prepare reports regarding ongoing launch costs versus budget
  • Work with the Quality Team to ensure Advanced Part Quality Planning (APQP) initiatives are met and documented and direct the Launch Team in the same regard
  • Goes the extra mile and leads by example. Exhibits a hands-on approach. Willing to work extra and varied hours during critical launch phases.

Supervisory Responsibility
  • No direct reports but expected to coach and motivate the team to encourage ownership and responsibility for their activities.
Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a production manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses standard production equipment.Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; climb stairs; talk or hear.Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkTypically, a Monday to Friday day hours role, however evening or weekend hours may be required occasionally.TravelOccasionally within and outside of CanadaRequired Education, Skills, and Experience
  • Bachelor degree in Engineering discipline or college diploma in Engineering discipline
  • Project Management Institute "PMI" certified Project Management Professional "PMP" or Program management experience including at least 3 product launch and/or significant plant expansion or Greenfield launch required
  • Engineering design/analysis and Process experience required
  • Ability to interface with customers
  • Proficient with MS Project & MS Office
Preferred Education qualifications, Skills and Experience
  • Proficiency in Spanish would be considered an asset
  • Experience in plastics manufacturing in an ISO environment
  • Mechanical design and materials plastic knowledge would be a strong asset
