Case ManagerFull Time Contract (to March 31, 2024) with the Possibility of ExtensionCornerstone Family Violence Prevention Centre (Cornerstone) has an exciting opportunity in which you get to work within the direct service team to ensure a strong, innovative support system is in place for women and children impacted by gender-based violence in Northumberland County.We are looking to work with energetic and empathetic individuals who share our steadfast commitment to ending gender-based violence. I am so grateful to be doing what I love within such a wonderful organization. – Victoria “Coming to work for Cornerstone was like coming into a community I didn’t even know I needed to be a part of until I was here.”– StephanieWhat can I expect to do in this role· Perform a full range of duties related to the provision of comprehensive services and supports to women who have experienced gender-based violence with complex needs, particularly related to trauma, mental health, addictions and homelessness· Provide timely crisis support in person and over the phone to meet the immediate needs of clients including assessment, stabilization services, individual counselling, advocacy, de-escalation, and crisis management· Provide a comprehensive range of services according to case planning and individual client’s needs· Complete safety assessment and explore risk management strategies with clients· Support clients in finding, securing, and maintaining safe and affordable housing in the community· Collaborate with the direct service team to support clients with complex needs to remain in the shelter· Facilitate the smooth transfer of service to other counsellors, programs, or services (internal and external) as required· Facilitate client accompaniment to court, police, hospitals, etc., where appropriate and when possible· Respond to telephone requests ranging from general information inquiries, to supportive and crisis counselling· Facilitate groups/workshopsWhat do I need for this role· Relevant degree or diploma· Strong crisis intervention skills and experience· Comprehensive understanding of issues related to family violence, including a strong understanding of the links between violence, trauma, addictions and mental health, and homelessness· Proven ability to respond to complex needs of clients in a case management capacity· Openness to learning and applying the following practice frameworks:o The Comprehensive Continuous Integrated Systems of Care model of service provisiono Motivational Interviewingo Family and Intimate Partner Violence within a gendered lenso Trauma informedo Harm Reduction· Relevant knowledge of local community and social services· Excellent interpersonal skills· Strong analytical/critical thinking skills and sound judgmentWhat can I expect from Cornerstone· Salary ranging from $44,335.20 - $46,373.60 for a 35 hour work week· Receive a competitive benefits package· Ongoing training and development opportunities· Participate in a culture that is committed to staff wellness and engagementWe are committed to a selection process and work environment that is inclusive and barrier free.
