Job Description

The basic function of the Finance Manager is to oversee all financial transactions of the company. This position works in a standard office environment. The office environment is controlled and maintained in a safe manner. Must occasionally travel to meet customers or vendors. Is exposed to driving hazards.The ideal candidate is self motivated and able to handle rapidly changing priorities and several tasks simultaneously. Must be able to respond to difficult situations with customers and co-workers with a high level of professionalism. Must be able to communicate effectively with vendors and co-workers. Must be able to follow safety guidelines at all times. Must have the ability to lead effectively.Role

  • Create, implement and adjust financial policies to guarantee operational efficiency and profitability
  • Develop strategies that work to minimize financial risk
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly reports
  • Plan and prepare monthly, quarterly and yearly budge
  • Bank deposits
  • Monthly bill payments
  • Payroll / subcontractor payments week
  • Create employee profile and/or termination in QBO and ROE online
  • Preparation of yearly T4’s, T5018’s et
  • Corporate year end financial preparation
  • Report and pay HST, WSIB, Corp Tax et
  • Manage employee benefit plan
  • Manage accounts payable / receivable
  • Maintain CFO dashboard
  • Ensure financial records are kept up to date with the latest transactions and changes
  • Inspect all financial transactions including audit of employee spending, vendor invoices etc.
  • Provide advice to management in making financial decisions
  • Other tasks as requested by the Vice President of Operations or the President
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in finance, accounting, economics or business administration, management
  • Over 5 years of experience in a similar role
  • Ability to represent Mckenzie Drywall Inc. in a professional manner with customers, vendors, staff and the general public
  • Work well under pressure and with tight deadlines
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Expert knowledge in finance and accounting procedures and regulations
  • Proficient in QBO
  • Adaptability—the individual adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events
  • Good communicator – works well with different customers and office personnel personality styles
  • Must have smartphone with capability of receiving calls, texts, emails and ability to download necessary company related apps
