And, we value your commitment to treat every person on our team with respect, helping us to operate safely, protect the environment and make a positive contribution to our local communities.ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITYBased at the Detour Lake Mine site, we currently have an exciting opportunity for a TMA Co-op Student to join our TMA team for a 12-Month Period reporting to the TMA Tailings Engineer.Detour Lake is the second largest gold producing mine in Canada with the largest gold reserves and substantial growth potential. The open pit mine is located in northeastern Ontario, approximately 300 kilometres northeast of Timmins and 185 kilometres by road northeast of Cochrane, within the northernmost Abitibi Greenstone Belt. The mine is situated in the area of the historic Detour Lake open pit/underground mine operated by Placer Dome which produced 1.8 million ounces of gold from 1983 to 1999. The Detour Lake operation has a mine life of approximately 22 years with an average gold production of 659,000 ounces per year.The TMA Co-op Student will be responsible supporting to Tailings Management Area operations at the Detour Lake Mine.RESPONSIBILITIESYour responsibilities will include:

• Provide field survey control on day and nightshift rotation;
• Prepare volumetric reports weekly and monthly;
• Perform daily dam safety inspections of the TMA structures;
• Perform Quality Assurance soils testing as required;
• Continually strive for improvements in current operational efficiencies.
• Input to monthly forecasting.

QUALIFICATIONSOur ideal candidate has:

• Engineering Coop Student in Mining, Geological, Environmental or Civil Engineering with experience in survey, construction or mining;
• Working knowledge of volumetric modelling and reporting;
• Proven commitment to health, safety and the environment;
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and AutoCAD.
