New housing, excellent educational facilities, a multipurpose recreational facility and a college are just a few of the highlights that truly make Cold Lake a community of choice.Job Purpose & Responsibilities:The City of Cold Lake is seeking a qualified individual to fill the permanent, full-time position of Parks and Recreation Operator with the Department of Community Services.Reporting to the Parks and Recreation Foreman, this position ensures the maintenance and upkeep of all City parks, sports fields, open spaces and other recreation assets are kept to a professional standard. The Parks and Recreation Operator handles all general and specific maintenance for the day-to-day operations in all the City’s recreation assets ranging from arena, field house, curling rink, and ice maintenance in the winter to grass cutting, sports fields, parks, open space, and golf course maintenance in the summer. This position responds to the day-to-day maintenance needs of all City recreation assets as well as the transitioning of these assets for various activities. Related duties may include overseeing, scheduling and communicating with contractors regarding matters relating to the maintenance and upkeep of the recreation assets. Hours of work are rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays.Qualifications:
