Job Description

Reporting to the Foreman, the Equipment Operator Maintenance will be responsible for all operator duties required on industrial scope construction projects. They will ensure work tasks are performed safely in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety Legislation and company policies and that work is performed with a high level of quality and timeliness.This position is based in the Conklin, AB area on a client site.Working Conditions

  • Shift schedule – 11.5 hours per day for 8 days on and 6 days off
  • Working both indoors and outdoors in hot and cold weather conditions
  • Working at heights
  • Working in and around noise and dust
  • Must be clean shaven
  • Camp position
  • LOA not provided
  • Travel not provided
  • Coveralls, safety glasses/goggles, hard hat and gloves are provided
  • CSA approved steel-toed safety boots will be required
Responsibilities
  • Operate a zoom boom and skid steer.
  • Load and unload materials and move materials to work area.
  • Operate and care for equipment and machines.
  • Keep work areas and equipment clean and safe.
  • Follow instructions from crew lead hand and foreman.
  • Work with other trades/labourers to assist with workloads.
  • General day to day labour duties.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma
  • 2 years’ experience operating equipment in the construction industry an asset
  • H2S Alive
  • CSO or equivalent (CSTS-09)
  • WHMIS2015
  • Zoom boom ticket
  • Skid steer ticket
  • Positive attitude towards safety
  • Ability to work collaboratively
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Superior focus on customer satisfaction
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Pre-site Drug and Alcohol testing
Physical Requirements
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50 lbs. with assistance
  • Stand or walk for long periods of time
  • Use arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objects
  • Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds and other objects
  • Work with full face mask in CSE
