We deliver confidence through a client-centered approach that ensures the highest quality of service, reducing risk, and delivering results.Stuart Olson is currently seeking an Industrial Instrumentation Technician with experience in construction on mining and or oil and gas projectsWhy Work for Stuart OlsonStable long term employment, earn a good income and have half the year off - this Instrumentation technician position is for you! Stuart Olson will provide transportation from Fort McMurray, Red Deer, Calgary or Edmonton and you will work a a half day on the first and last day of your shift.Responsibilities

  • Test troubleshoot and repair transmitters, switches, control valves.
  • Calibrate and adjust set points on a variety of different instruments.
  • Coordinate with control room to stroke and function test valves and dampers.
  • Install and trouble tubing and air actuated instruments.
  • Observe functioning of installed equipment or systems to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation or replacement.
  • Repair faulty equipment or systems.
  • Understand and practice company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain safe work practices.
  • Other duties as requested by the Supervisor.
Working Conditions
  • Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol testing
  • Working both indoors and outdoors in hot and cold weather conditions
  • Working in and around noise and dust
  • Coveralls, safety glasses/goggles, hard hat and gloves are provided
  • CSA approved steel-toed safety boots will be required
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s License
Qualifications
  • Certified Journeyman Instrumentation
  • Industrial construction experience in oil and gas, SAGD or mining is required
  • Required Safety Tickets
  • CSTS-20
  • H2s Alive
  • Fall Arrest an asset
  • Confined Space an asset
  • Aerial Work Platform an asset
  • Ability to take direction and follow through on instructions
  • Positive attitude towards safety
  • Ability to work collaboratively
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Superior focus on customer satisfaction
  • Valid driver’s licence
Physical Requirements
  • Stand or walk for long periods of time; working outside in all kinds weather
  • Ability to stand, crouch, and kneel for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 25kg
  • Climbing stairs/ladders regularly
  • Exposure to hazards such as heights, power tools, slips, falls, falling objects, and sharp hand tools
