If you can relate, we want to hear from you!Reporting to the IT Service Desk Lead, the Field IT Analyst will be an energetic self-starter, performing various duties, responding to information technology support requests, as well as ensuring customer satisfaction and consistent IT service delivery, throughout site, working closely with their cross-shift to offer seamless service and connectivity throughout our Christina Lake asset in Northern Alberta.If you are looking to join an exciting company, become part of one of best IT teams in the province, take on a new role that will offer significant learning opportunities and growth in your career, work with cross-functional teams to support, configure, optimize and deploy desktop infrastructure and solutions, then this is the role for you!Your day-to-day:

  • Act as the first point of contact for site-based end users via telephone and email
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve a wide range of technical desktop-related problems
  • Through remote tools, fulfill service requests including installing and upgrading software, configuring systems and applications, and gathering information for further troubleshooting
  • Utilize ServiceNow to log and escalate incidents and requests
  • Installation and support of PCs, laptops, printers, peripherals, and mobile phones
  • Actively coordinate with team members and other service support groups to effectively resolve desktop incidents and service requests in a timely manner, escalating more complex problems when needed
  • Work collaboratively to ensure problems are being resolved and customers updated accordingly
  • Provide backup coverage to network support analyst, including acting as local hands-and-eyes for 3rd level network support
  • Liaise with local business groups to evaluate and coordinate IT requirements
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement efforts of team processes, and actively participate in team meetings
  • Complete any additional AdHoc requests as required
What you will bring to MEG:
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in an IT Desktop Support, with at least some exposure to Operations/Site Support is required
  • A Technical Diploma in Information Technology or related certifications is required – a combination of experience and education will be considered
  • Knowledge and proficiency on the following technologies and skill sets is required:
    • Laptops, Desktops, Printers, Mobile Devices
    • Basic TCP/IP familiarization, Remote Access, troubleshooting
    • Windows 10, Microsoft SCCM, M365, Active Directory, Service Now ticketing system
  • Competency with System Center Configuration Manager, image creation and deployment are required
  • Application packaging and scripting is considered an asset
  • Proficiency at troubleshooting technical issues is required
  • Effective communicator with the ability to promote cooperation and relationships
  • Experience working with diverse communities and groups
  • Ability to maintain composure and perform during stressful outage events
  • Ability and willingness to learn new technologies
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, sometimes repetitively throughout a shift
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors, in all seasons
  • This is a Fly-In, Fly-Out position, working on a 7&7 rotation (Tuesday - Tuesday), flying out of Calgary or Edmonton, working a 12-hour shift
