Job Description

Reporting to the Foreman, the Industrial Insulator will be responsible for all the insulating duties on industrial scope construction projects. They will ensure work tasks are performed safely in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety Legislation and company policies and that work is performed with a high level of quality and timeliness.This position is located at Christina Lake and Foster Creek, AB area on a client site.Working Conditions

  • Shift schedule will be 14 on, 7 off, working 11 hours per day, last day of rotation will be a 6-hour shift
  • Working both indoors and outdoors in hot and cold weather conditions
  • Working in and around noise and dust
  • Must be clean shaven
  • Working in confined spaces
  • Camp is provided
  • Travel and LOA are not provided
  • Coveralls, safety glasses/goggles, hard hat and gloves are provided
  • CSA approved steel-toed safety boots will be required
Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret drawings and specifications to determine insulation requirements.
  • Select the amount and type of insulation to be installed as well as a method of securing the insulation according to the type and shape of the surface, whether or not the equipment is cold or hot, inside or outside, and what the equipment is going to be used for.
  • Measure and cut insulating material and coverings to the required shape and dimensions.
  • Fit insulation around obstructions or shape insulation materials and protective coverings.
  • Install vapour barriers and finish insulated surfaces by applying metal cladding, plastic or cement.
Qualifications
  • Journeyman Insulator or 3rd year Apprentice Insulator
  • Proof of hours is required for non-ticketed insulators
  • Well pad experience an asset
  • CSO

  • Elevated Work Platform
  • Ability to take direction and follow through on instructions
  • Committed dedication to safety; reflected in practice and experience
  • Ability to work collaboratively

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Pre-site Drug and Alcohol testing
  • Mask-fit testing will be required
  • Candidates may be required to have proof of full vaccination or consent to rapid testing prior to onboarding as an employee
Physical Requirements
  • Stand or walk for long periods of time
  • Ability to stand, crouch, and kneel for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Climbing stairs/ladders regularly
  • Exposure to hazards such as heights, power tools, slips, falls, falling objects, and sharp hand tools
  • Physical Fitness for Duty Assessment form a personal Physician
  • Audiometric test
