Job Title: ControllerPosition Type: Permanent, Full-timeCompensation: $105,000-$110,000 per year, 3 weeks #39; vacation, Benefits, PTO and BonusShifts: Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm (hybrid - 3 days in office)Work Location: Calgary, AlbertaJob Accountability:- Leadership: Lead, coach, and mentor a finance team responsible for the monthly accounting cycle and financial statement preparation and reporting.- Monthly Reporting: Prepare working papers and journal entries for day-to-day accounting transactions including, but not limited to bank reconciliations, accounts receivable, prepaids, inventory, payroll, and accounts payable and accrued liabilities. Implement the month-end and year-end close process.- Cash Management: Preparation of cash forecasts. Oversight and support of cash receipt and payable cycles and related staff. Liaison with commercial banking.- Business Partner: Work with significant project partners and internal project managers to support the financial aspects of major R amp;D project work taking place.- Payroll: Final Review and approval of payroll. Assist with implementation of new payroll system. Be a business partner with HR/Payroll department.- Financial Expertise: Monitors corporate policies, procedures, and internal controls in accordance with IFRS and other regulatory bodies.- Financial Reporting: Overseeing the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements.- Auditamp; Tax: Leads the annual financial audit, and assists with other accounting engagements (tax, SRED etc.).- ERP Super User: Drive automation and increase effective utilization of the financial and reporting aspects of the ERP system (NetSuite).
