We strive to offer an appropriate level of quality and ensure materials and services are delivered on schedule and in compliance with the client #39;s specifications and expectations.Responsibilities- Negotiate, renegotiate, and administer contracts with suppliers, vendors and other representatives- Purchase the highest quality materials at the lowest possible cost in correct amounts per specifications and drawings- Maintain and review computerized or manual records of items purchased, costs, deliveries, product performance, and inventories- Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities and the supplier #39;s reputation and history- Evaluate and monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and determine needs for changes- Prepare purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions for goods and services- Design and present an End of Program Presentation to showcase your work and development throughout this internshipQualifications- Ability to work full-time during the summer (approximately May-August)- Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Supply Chain Management or related- Genuine interest and passion for the field of purchasing/procurement- Strong customer service and communication skills- Detail-oriented, highly motivated with ability to effectively manage time- Team player with the ability to work well independently- Ability to maintain excellent attendance- Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background checkPreferred Skills:- Technical knowledge of Microsoft Office applications- Customer service and leadership experienceOther Requirements:- Regular, reliable attendance- Work productively and meet deadlines timely- Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment- Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.- Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines.
