Wood #39;s Consulting business is seeking a passionate and dynamic Regional Operations Manager for our Calgary, AB office. The Regional Operations Manager will be responsible for growing the Processamp; Chemicals end market in Canada. S/He will lead, direct and coordinate all the strategy, sales operations and administrative functions but also provides technical oversight to front-end scopes (technical due diligence and/or evaluations, conceptual, feasibility, and pre-FEED) in the conventional and new energy sectors.This is a highly visible role, and an excellent opportunity to make a mark in an international organization. The Regional Operations Manager will be the main point of contact in Canada; supporting business development with the pursue of strategic opportunities while maintaining positive relationships with clients, vendors, and other third party providers. He or she also be the main point of contact with clients; communicating complex subjects simplistically, without compromising meaning or analytical rigour to aid wider communication to stakeholders and customers.The key responsibilities of the Regional Operations Manager are:- Support the definition of business strategy and engage with new Customers in order to grow the business in Canada- Develop the Processamp; Chemicals business plan including business and internal development strategies.- Where authorized by Director of Processamp; Chemicals - Americas, oversee business winning for the group #39;s activities and provide permission to bid and management review for authorized proposals.- Interact and engage with the Processamp; Chemicals group from the local Projects Business Unit.- Clearly understand commercial imperatives for a project; able to evaluate main threats to the commercial position and develop contingency plans to mitigate commercial risks.- Ensure high quality execution of all the group #39;s studies and project while achieving company #39;s and project #39;s quality, profitability and delivery requirements- Ensure the Processamp; Chemicals group achieves a high standard in technical design using Wood, client, and industry standards and data in line with project requirements, providing support to advocates of new approaches.- Act as a subject matter expert with the ability to influence and direct customers towards what they need (and away from what they want should these conflict).- Ensure the content and objectives of Wood #39;s Corporate Policies are implemented and understood by all group personnel.- Ensure activities are carried out in accordance with relevant Work Practices- Ongoing development of group personnel including strategic succession planning- Provide and obtain resources and assistance to/from other managers within Wood and affiliates companies.- Periodically review salaries of group personnel and make recommendations to the Director of Processamp; Chemicals - Americas for adjustment.- Bachelor #39;s or Master #39;s degree in Chemical or Process Engineering- Minimum 15 years project delivery experience- A focus on Pre-FEED and FEED for Chemical/Process plants is highly preferred. Consultancy Experience in early phase work such as Feasibility studies and Conceptual engineering is of the essence.- Minimum of 10 years project management and business development- Robust knowledge of process and chemicals market trends, project development strategies and related technologies- Must have experience managing consulting or study teams for the execution of projects- Demonstrated project and engineering management experience, with significant leadership ability- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; with the ability to engage and relate to others (internal and external stakeholders) at all levels- Must be Canadian citizen or authorized to work lawfully in Canada, without sponsorship from WoodWood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world #39;s most critical challenges.
