Senior EstimatorLocation: Calgary, AB, Canada Job ID: R16653 Job Status: Full-TimeShare:Apply NowLedcor Employee Apply internally in Workday.DescriptionJob Summary:The Senior Estimator, assuming a leadership role and providing guidance to team members, is responsible for the creation and/or overseeing the creation of estimate packages, including quantity take offs, costing and subtrades solicitation. The Senior Estimator organizes and implements estimating activities related to the preparation of conceptual budgets, detailed estimates, cost studies, and competitive bids for the Ledcor Technical Service group in the US and Canada.The Senior Estimator applies knowledge and skills through the handling of complex problems and shares expertise with the estimating team. This individual provides expert guidance for non-estimating personnel on complex estimating related requirements.This position has the ability to work remotely.Apply today to join the Ledcor Technical Services team!We support our employees with training to develop skills, knowledge, and abilities.We offer an industry-leading benefits package, ongoing employee training and development, team building and career growth opportunities.Essential Responsibilities:- Reviews plans, specifications, drawings, terms and conditions, etc. (Client Bid Pkg) to understand the bid requirements to develop accurate costs- Based upon Client requirements, unanswered complex RFI #39;s, environmental factors, market challenges, timeline, site walks or desktop reviews, and incomplete specifications, develops risk and contingency models / cost pricing adjustments for the bid- Performs or oversees quantity takeoffs for large, complex bids, including review of takeoff summaries- Leads subcontractor and supplier solicitation when needed- Recommends subcontractors to be put forward for award- Takes ownership of the estimate, reviewing and verifying direct and indirect costs to ensure profitability objectives are met- Assigns and manages Bid deliverable responsibilities- Creates and reviews indirect staffing models, schedule, and execution strategy and ensures alignment with the estimate- Leads estimate reviews and development of bid clarifications on large, complex projects- Applies knowledge and skills through the handling of complex problems and shares expertise with the Estimating team- Develops and maintains alignment between LTS United States and Canada Estimating teams- Mentor and develop estimators to understand the estimating process, acquire technical knowledge and gain increased knowledge in multiple disciplines of workQualifications:- Minimum 6 years estimating and / or related construction experience in Outside Plant Construction (OSP), gas, electric, water, or telecom, in a variety of complex multidiscipline projects- Strong computer background including experience with MS Office and related estimating software (InEight preferred).- Thorough technical knowledge of modern construction practices, techniques, and equipment; thorough understanding of construction documents and the ability to assess their completeness- Knowledge of construction costs and budgets, ability to develop project schedule- Ability to close complex tenders/bids and proposals- Ability to create and maintain formal networks internally and externally; ability to explain and present complex ideas while influencing others#LI-DW1#LI-RemoteAdditional Information:Company DescriptionLedcor Technical Services (LTS) designs, builds, and maintains wireline or wireless networks that span North America and beyond.
