As a Senior Bridge Engineer, you will help lead and grow our Calgary bridge team and support our established bridge teams in Alberta and Ontario. You will be responsible for pursuing, leading and coordinating the design delivery on multiple assignments simultaneously, coordinating the design with other practices, and liaise with our national bridge leader and global engineering design resources, as required. The incumbent should be willing to work in a team environment, mentor junior staff, interact with clients and approval agencies, and assist senior project managers in their deliverables.You #39;ll serve in a Bridge Discipline Lead on a variety of bridge project sizes in Alberta and projects across Canada. You #39;ll lead successful delivery of high-quality projects within budget and on schedule and effectively collaborate with others. You #39;ll identify creative and innovative engineering solutions based on client, project, and site constraints while leading bridge teams in all aspects of bridge analysis and design, from conceptual planning and preliminary design to final design and construction.You #39;ll be working mainly from home or from our Calgary Office with the expectation to travel for client meetings and occasional team meetings.Here #39;s What You #39;ll Need:- Bachelor #39;s degree in Civil Engineering and/or Structural Engineering- Licensed P.Eng. in the Province of Alberta- Proven existing relationships within clients and industry in the Alberta market, including extensive experience working with Alberta Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure in a lead capacity- 15+ Years of industry experience.- Experience with new bridge/bridge replacement and structural rehabilitation and repairs of various types of bridge structures- Strong technical design and project management skills related to bridge design, including but not limited to: preliminary and detail design of bridges, culverts and other structures, seismic design, and rehabilitation of existing structures- Bridge analysis and design, being familiar with Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code and Alberta Owner #39;s requirement, and bridge analysis and design software- Preparing specifications and contract documents- Construction and contract administration as site resident engineer or site inspector- Involvement in business development and preparing proposalsIdeally, you #39;ll also have:- Experience with alternative delivery projects in a technical/design lead position- Experience working on projects in various Provinces and Territories.- Experienced report and proposal writing skills.- Experience with site inspections during construction is an asset.- Experience with pre-design site reviews to establish existing conditions and design and repair strategies is an asset.At Jacobs, we #39;re challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world #39;s most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission-critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting-edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.
