Job PostingPosting: Internal External Internal/ExternalTITLE: Supervisor, Live In Treatment Service (LITS)RESPONSIBLE TO: Manager of Clinical ServicesLOCATION: CookstownJOB NUMBER: SUPL-0621-FTPOSTED ON: June 7, 2021POSITION TYPE: Permanent, Full-TimeHOURS OF WORK: 35 hours per week (and additional on-call hours)COMPENSATION: $34.85 to $37.72EFFECTIVE DATE: As soon as possibleINTRODUCTIONNew Path Youth and Family Services is an accredited children’s mental health agency providing a range of compassionate, innovative and accessible services for children, youth and their families throughout Simcoe County.POSITION SUMMARYThe Supervisor is responsible for the clinical and administrative management of the Live In Treatment Service (LITS). This client-centered program is for youth ages 11 through 18 years of age and their families who are experiencing significant social, emotional and behavioural problems and require an intensive 24 hour therapeutic setting.1. Ensure service delivery adheres to professional standards recognized by Ministry Licensing, Accreditation, Continuous Quality Improvement and applicable professional standards.2. Participate in the development of future program plans, and ensures their implementation.3. Empower youth and their families as partners in child and youth mental health to address and make decisions that affect them personally or that they believe to be important.4. Participate in and/or ensure the development of a treatment plan for each client.5. Ensure clients are receiving service that is caring and understanding and responds to their emotional, behavioural, and physical needs.6. Provide required crisis and on-call services.7. In collaboration with Human Resources, provide appropriate staffing through effective recruitment, selection, and orientation. Provide mentoring, coaching, training and performance management for direct reports and complete performance evaluations on an annual basis.8. Ensure fiscal accountability when committing resources or processing financial transactions.9. Participate on local community planning committees related to children’s mental health issues.10. Builds and continuously maintains a network of contacts and resources to support advocacy initiatives for the sector.QUALIFICATIONS1. Minimum of Child and Youth Worker Diploma. BSW or MSW is preferred.2. Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in the provision of live in treatment services to children, youth and their families.3. Minimum of 1 year Supervisory/Leadership experience.4. Experience with Evidence Based practices, including CBT.SKILLS AND ABILITIES1. Youth and family focused; aligns own behaviour with the needs, priorities and goals of the organization.2. Committed to youth and family engagement that includes youth and families as decision makers and partners.3. Takes personal responsibility for enhancing individual and team performance by taking a strengths based approach to leadership practice.4. Approaches problems from a solutions based perspective by reviewing the viable alternatives and determining the best course of action.5. Recognizes, initiates and adapts to changing conditions and situations in the workplace.6. Models positive change.7. Embraces a diverse and multi-disciplinary culture.8. Confident, articulate and professional when communicating verbally and in writing.9. Maintain professional skills and refine expertise through appropriate educational/ developmental activities and professional affiliations.10. Willingness to travel using personal vehicle. Must have valid driver’s license with minimum G2.11. Must be able to provide on-call coverage 24-7 for approximately 17 weeks per year in collaboration with the LITs leadership team.12.
