If you have a keen eye for detail and high attention to accuracy, and are driven by providing exceptional customer service, this position is for you!Reporting to the Senior Financial Analyst, this position will be responsible for data entry for accounts payable transactions, performing various accounting functions, verifying and reconciling invoices and payments, and maintaining general ledger accounts. Further, you will be interacting frequently with vendors and other staff by responding to inquiries and providing them with a variety of information. You will also assist with other department and job-related duties as assigned.Our ideal candidate will possess a strong sense of initiative and the ability to juggle competing demands with ease. As part of working in a team, and liaising with other City staff and external contacts, you will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to advise regarding a wide variety of inquiries. These attributes will be matched with a Grade 12 education supplemented by bookkeeping and business courses, and sound related experience in accounts payable work, or an equivalent combination of training and experience (preferably in a public sector setting). Experience with Oracle financials EBS and an accounts payable electronic workflow system would be an asset.In addition to a CUPE hourly rate of $26.87 - $31.56, the City offers a comprehensive benefits package and the option to participate in an earned day off program.
