Looking for part-time work with a values-driven non-profit organizationInterested in creating a safe, inclusive environment that encourages children of all abilities to try new thingsLove facilitating fun and creative activities and games, and making a real difference in kids’ livesLooking to build valuable career experience toward a future in childhood educationIf you answered yes to any of these questions, we’re looking for you!YMCA Activity Leaders, Support & Inclusion enjoy working in a fun, fast-paced environment facilitating activities and games for children ages 5 – 12. Our Support & Inclusion Activity Leaders are responsible for ensuring children with diverse abilities or support needs have an inclusive before and after school care experience.This posting is governed by the Collective Agreement between the YMCA Child Care Centers and BCGEU Local 303.Who we’re looking for:

Your qualifications
  • Must be at least 19 years of age
  • Experience working with children 5 – 12 with additional support needs
  • Experience as a Behavioral Internationalist or Support Worker and Asset
  • Emergency First Aid and CRC – C & AED
  • 20 hours of training in Child Development, Child
Guidance and/or Nutrition an assetYour responsibilities:
  • Work effectively within a staff team to provide an inclusive environment of support, strategies, and resources for children with diverse needs to fully participate within the program.
  • Provide individual support to children within the program setting
  • Help to build and contribute to a community environment of global supports and inclusion for all children through supporting their strengths and stretches.
  • Help children navigate conflict and role model positive behaviours.
  • Contribute to the development, integration, and maintenance of care plans within the program
The important details:Rate of Pay: $20.81 per hourBenefits: Benefits package + FREE Gym Membership paid vacation days and sick leaveLocation: Alderson YMCA Kids Club (825 Gauthier Ave, Coquitlam)Terms: Permanent, Part-time 27.5 hours a weekShift: Monday - Friday 7:00am - 9:00am & 2:30pm - 6:00pm
