The Bookkeeper supports the day-to-day operation of the Accounting Department.Summary of Duties:Processes approved Accounts Payable invoices for payment. Prints and distributes cheques. Prints Reports. Maintains Accounts Payable files.Responds to staff and vendor inquiries as appropriate.Orients relief staff to Accounts Payable processing.Income Journal – prepares general ledger input from bank deposit information.Maintains A/R records, prepares monthly journal entry.FFS - Maintains and updates Fees for Service payment records.Reconciles all bank accounts monthly and submits to accountant for approval.Gift certificates – maintains records, prepares gift certificates for use by food bank.Gaming Cash Disbursements – updates spreadsheet with gaming use of proceeds.Cash flow – updates cash flow records and reconciles to bank information.Data entry – posts transactions, as provided by Accountant, to accounting software.Assists Accountant with reconciliation, schedules, and working papers at year-end and as required.Qualifications Required:Grade 12 supplemented with accounting courses3 years experience in payroll, accounts payable/receivable and general accounting experience on computerized systems.Location: 3020 Lincoln Avenue, CoquitlamHours: 35 hours per week, to be scheduled in consultation with the supervisor.Start Date: ImmediatelyEnd Date: One year from start date or until the return of the incumbent.SHARE recognizes the systemic discrimination that Black, Indigenous, Persons of Colour and many other groups have historically experienced, and continue to face in our society, and in our community.
