Job Description

With a background in accounting and general office skills, you will have excellent oral and written communication skills and are able to work well in a fast moving, dynamic team environment.   • Daily cash management and weekly cash forecasting
  • Ensure accounts payable and receivables are processed in a timely manner
  • Oversee full cycle payroll process
  • Assist in the preparation of forecasts/budgets and perform variance analyses
  • Maintain accurate and current financial statements and related schedules
  • Prepare financial statements and analyze variances (budget and prior year)
  • Coordinate and handle audits (tax and assurance)
  • Ensure all balance sheet accounts are analyzed and reconciled on a monthly basis with appropriate schedules
  • Ensure fixed asset schedules are maintained and inter-company accounts are reconciled
  • Respond to financial statement inquiries from the field and other accounting related issues
  • Process invoicing and cash allocation (customer payments)
  • Sales and income tax remittances
  • Coordinate inventory counts including reconciliation and adjustments
  • Facilitating timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and year-end financial statements
  • Manage all aspects of the general ledger, including bank rec, fixed assets, g/l recs, intercompany transactions
  • Prepare year end audit working papers and serve as a liaison to external auditors
  • Prepare and remit federal and provincial taxes
  • Analyze, recommend, and document accounting process improvements
Required Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance and/or Business required
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting systems (preferably Sage) and audit trails
  • Proficiency in MS Office (MS Word & MS Excel in particular)
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Minimum 2-3 years of full cycle accounting and financial reporting experience is an asset
  • Experience of Full cycle of AP and AR is an asset
  • Able to handle multiple priorities to meet tight deadlines
