About UsCanstar Restorations is a full-service restoration company with 11 offices throughout British Columbia and Alberta, with head office in Coquitlam, BC. We help people by restoring buildings and possessions that have been damaged by fire and water. We currently have over 230 employees and take pride in being reputable for delivering high quality work since 1985. Position OverviewThe Safety Administrative Assistant works with the Safety Manager to develop, plan and execute the departmental goals and objectives while providing confidential and professional administrative support services.Duties and ResponsibilitiesInspects all First Aid Kits and order necessary supplies to ensures all kits are appropriately stocked and, in all company, vehiclesReview and edit the Occupational Health and Safety Manual as requiredMaintain company Fire Protection Plan by ensuring all warehouses are equipped with fire extinguishers, act as secretary for fire safety committee and aids in planning fire and earthquake drillsResponsible for ongoing Safety Poster RotationOrganize annual Hearing clinics and input results in company database for trackingOrganize staff Immunization clinics and put in company database for trackingAssists with planning and hosting Canstar’s annual Safety Awareness WeekAssist with organizing annual Playland eventAssists with all monthly Safety InspectionsAttend monthly JOHS meetings and take meeting minutes Follow up Safety Committee Action PlanMaintain SDS and maintain every 3 yearsEnsure all required employees are provided with an annual Fit Test and appropriate certification, and ensure certifications are put in database for trackingProvide outstanding customer service to both internal and external customersEnsure all relevant safety standards are followed according to Canstar and WorkSafe BC and Alberta requirementsComply with all Canstar policies and procedures including the code of conductOther safety related duties as requiredHealth and SafetyEnsure that self and others adhere to Canstar’s health and safety practices and proceduresEnsure good housekeeping is kept to perform work safely and efficientlyUnderstand safety policies and protocolsEnsure that self and others on site are wearing all required PPE, when requiredRequirements:You have a great attitude and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done. We have a fun and hard-working team and are looking for someone with the skills to complement them.
