Job Description

Under the direction of the Supervisor for Housing, the Housing Coordinator is responsible foroverseeing the day-to-day operations of his/her assigned housing sites, including renting units, rentcollection, arranging site maintenance and related duties. This is an HSA Bargaining Unit Position andrequires Union membership.Summary of Duties:

  • Receive, receipt and prepare bank deposits for rents when the Program Assistant is not available.
  • Follow up on unpaid rents and in consultation with the Supervisor/Director and in line with program
policy create and record payment plans.
  • Arrange and oversee maintenance services/work ensuring that work is complete as identified,
requested or directed.
  • Annually inspect all units and inspect sites daily. Document these inspections and arrange for
maintenance follow up.
  • Maintain appropriate and timely documentation and service tracking systems. Ensure supplier
billings are received and processed to the supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Select, interview, orient and document, including applications for rent subsidy, the admission of new
tenants.
  • Complete annual and other required updates of the rent subsidy application process in a timely
manner.
  • Maintain a welcoming relationship with tenants and attend to conflict/issues in ways that
encourages the tenants’ participation in problem solving. Proceed with Notices to End Tenancy whenrequired.
  • Shared rotation of the emergency phone for 2 weeks approximately every 6 weeks.
Qualifications Required:
  • Diploma in related fields such a property management, group management and leadership
  • 2 years experience in property management, familiarity with poverty issues, group management,
conflict resolution and mediation.
  • Strong organizational, oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Accuracy with numbers
  • Access to a reliable vehicle is necessary
Location: 551 Emerson St., Coquitlam and other agency housing sitesHours: 35 hours per week, to be scheduled in consultation with SupervisorSalary/Classification: $24.48 - $28.52.
