We envision a bright future in Coquitlam that we hope includes you!Our Parks, Recreation, Culture and Facilities Department is currently looking for energetic and creative Program Leaders with experience working with youth for various facilities and programs.Program Leaders will have leadership responsibility for planning, implementing and leading a variety of social, cultural, sport, and general interest activities for youth ages 11-18. Program Leaders will provide guidance to volunteers on their program duties and will be responsible for safe and proper use of equipment and facilities. Duties are performed within established guidelines but some independent action and initiative is exercised in leading and instructing assigned programs. Program Leaders will be responsible for sharing their passion and expertise providing instruction to youth on a variety of activities, sports and ability levels.Ideally, our next Program Leaders will have experience leading arts, culture, recreation or outreach programs for youth 11-18 years in a community setting and/or the equivalent coaching and volunteer experience. Candidates must possess current first aid and CPR certifications. Additional certifications such as High Five and NCCP, non-violent crisis training and/or enrollment in a youth-focused program (Child & Youth Care, Youth Justice) are considered assets. Youth centre and youth program shifts include afterschool, evening and weekend hours.The City offers a CUPE hourly rate for Program Leaders of $22.98-$26.87 plus 12% in lieu of benefits. Applicants under consideration may be required to undergo a police security clearance evaluation with vulnerable sector check (with no adverse reports). The City has a vaccination policy that is currently suspended.
