For more information about our Gardein™ plant-based food products in Canada, visit https://gardein.ca/Position Summary: The Warehouse Associate plays a role in achieving Company objectives by handling raw materials and finished goods, while maintaining a safe working environment. A Warehouse Associate is responsible for material handling, using an RF gun to process and track inventory, and transporting materials throughout the facility. They are required to work in various areas as assigned, including the cooler and freezer. The Warehouse Associate reports directly to the Warehouse Supervisor.Working hours 1:30PM-10:00PMKey Responsibilities - Warehouse:

  • Using an RF gun to perform transactions, including: receiving, put away, transfers, and performing inventory inquiries
  • Transporting raw materials, finished goods, and equipment throughout the facility using a forklift, reach truck, dock stocker, or ride-on pallet jack
  • Conducting pre-shift inspections on equipment to ensure safe use during the day and communicating any issues to Warehouse Supervisors
  • Performing vehicle inspections by checking tires, lights, brakes, and the reefer unit ; driving a 5 ton truck to transfer goods and materials on urban and inter-urban routes
  • Maintaining a clean working environment
  • Adhering to the Company’s safety policies and procedures, as well as those set out by WorkSafeBC
  • Working in other areas as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
Key Responsibilities-Material Handling:
  • Coordinating and communicating with production to assess the need for raw materials; locating supplies in the warehouse and bringing it to where it is needed
  • Informing Warehouse Supervisors of raw material shortages
  • Operating an electric pallet jack to transport raw materials and finished goods throughout the warehouse
  • Adhering to the Company’s safety policies and procedures, as well as those set out by WorkSafeBC
  • Working in other areas as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements, Skills & Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred
  • Minimum of one to three years experience in a production environment is preferred
  • Previous experience using an RF gun
  • Experience driving a 5 ton truck is considered an asset
  • Forklift certification
  • Class 5 driver’s license required
  • Must be self motivated and able to multitask in a fast paced environment while maintaining a positive, safe, and respectful workplace
  • Working as part of a team, often with minimal supervision
  • Abiding by Company policies and procedures
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Ability to use critical thinking and problem solving
Working Conditions:
  • Must be available for day, evening, and weekend shifts
  • Cool environment
  • Hearing protection, visible vests, and steel toe shoes required
  • Standing and walking for long period of time (approximately 8 hours a day)
  • Operation of motorized vehicles
  • Maneuvering heavy objects, including: lifting (floor to waist, waist to shoulders, and overhead) and carrying up to 25kg and pushing and pulling of up to 400kg using a pallet jack
  • Exposure to job related hazards, including but not limited to: heavy objects, moving vehicles, and slippery floors
