Job Description

We are looking for a Civil expert to join our drafting team! We use the most current technology and have made professional development a key part of our strategic plan..What will you be doingAs a Civil Drafter with Caltech, you will be responsible for the development and preparation of survey drawings and geospatial deliverables to assist with projects related to well sites, subdivisions, pipelines, individual ownership, and crossing plans.Data Processing

  • Handling, processing, and extracting data from 3D data such as lidar and/or imagery.
  • Interpret field notes, sketches, legal plans, air photos, and digital data.
  • Complete survey computations including GPS, conventional data processing and calculations necessary for establishing legal boundaries and construction layouts.
.Drafting
  • Operating computer-assisted design (CAD) and drafting workstations.
  • Completing documentation packages and produce drawing sets.
  • Creating a variety of deliverables using AutoCAD Civil3D
  • Volume analysis, quantity take-offs and project estimates
  • Provide remote support for construction projects
  • Ensuring drafting standards, procedures, overall data quality, and integrity are met.
.Quality Checks
  • Review completed surfaces for completeness, accuracy, and ensure they meet project & client specifications.
  • Assess the accuracy of deliverables and produce reports to verify the accuracy.
  • Ensure standards, procedures, overall data quality, and integrity are met.
.What do you need to succeed in this role
  • Completion of the Geomatics diploma program / Engineering Design and Drafting Technology diploma and/or equivalent experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Experience in MS Word and Excel is an asset
  • Experience working with 3D lidar data
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit and Global Mapper software.
  • Active participation in Caltech Survey Ltd.’s health and safety program.
  • Ability to identify and set priorities and possess effective time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong commitment to excellence, attention to detail and professional development.
