Job Description

Working hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to FridayDuration: Permanent Location: DartmouthAbout the roleWe are seeking a Commercial Underwriting Associate to join our Eastern Region team. In this role, you #39;ll provide support for our underwriting processes, working closely with experienced underwriters to learn and hone your skills. Expect to delve into tasks such administrative and technical support and aiding in risk assessment. This is an opportunity to learn the nuances of underwriting in a hands-on, supportive environment. Your role is pivotal in our mission to provide superior service delivery and in supporting Ecclesiastical’squot;right first time quot; approach.   • Assist with underwriting administration and handling low-complexity underwriting cases.
  • Input data accurately and efficiently, recognising and rectifying where quality standards have been missed.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver exceptional service, upholding our#39;right first time #39; approach.
  • Act on agreed action plan to enhance the effectiveness of the team.
  • Operate within the Ecclesiastical framework and promptly escalate potential risks.
    Knowledge, skills and experience
    • University degree or college diploma or equivalent insurance or office administration experience.
    • A basic understanding of insurance concepts and terminology is a plus.
    • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly advanced Excel skills, and attention to detail.
    • Good verbal and written communication skills, a collaborative approach, and a strong desire to learn and grow professionally.
    • Demonstrable organizational skills, with an ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
    • Flexibility to adapt to changing work requirements and learn new processes.
    • Professionalism and high ethical standards are a must, along with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
    • Commitment to learning and professional development.
    • Proficient in reading, writing and speaking French would be beneficial but not a requirement.
