Job Description

We operate and supply a network of more than 360 retail locations, an extensive 24-hour diesel-stop network and three wholly owned product import terminals. We also offer bulk fuel supply, oils and lubricants, fuel equipment solutions, customised fleet fuel card solutions and expert advice on fuel management and health and safety. Chevron is currently transitioning most Puma Energy branded service stations it operates across Australia to Caltex, a global brand owned by Chevron. More information about Chevron Australia Downstream is available at Australia Downstream — Australia.chevron.comChevron Australia Downstream is seeking to appoint a Scheduler who will be responsible in scheduling all bulk fuel deliveries in alignment with company expectations, ensuring compliance to transport and Operational Excellence/Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (OE/HSE) requirements. This exciting role will be based in Darwin.Additional responsibilities for the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) to ensure stock levels at owned and 3rd party sites are within agreed minimum operational levels.
  • Review planned schedules daily and adjust them where required.
  • Advise customers of delays at the earliest opportunity (outside business hours only).
  • Work with Customer Service Officers and Depot Coordinators to ensure customer are delivered in full and on time.
  • Communicate directly with internal Logistics team to ensure full schedules are produced, including active participation in daily meetings.
  • Investigate and respond within 24hrs to trip reconciliations issues reported.
  • Act as 1st point of call for all customers outside of business hours.
  • Offer out of hours support for Terminal, delivery and/or driver issues nationally.
  • Optimise Fleet utilisation.
  • Identify roster issues make recommendations for adjustments as required to Business Support Area Manager.
  • Ensure optimised load/delivery sizes to reduce cost impacts due to oversupply.
  • Ensure schedules are aligned to freight cost assumptions.
Knowledge, skills and experience:
  • Knowledge and understanding of Basic Fatigue Management (BFM) and National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation System (NHVAS).
  • A minimum of two years previous transport / Scheduling experience
  • Knowledge of the fuel industry (desirable)
  • Knowledge of dangerous goods legislation (desirable)
  • High computer skills in MS Office Suites with desirable usage of SAP
  • Can work in a fast-paced environment with first rate time management skills
  • Able to multitask and prioritise jobs/requirements to suit day to day activities and long-term priorities
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
