Job Description

Mobil Grain is now hiring Track Labourers for work on Big Sky Rail and Last Mountain Railway. Mobil Grain is a family-founded company that operates the two Saskatchewan shortline railroads, LMR (85 miles) and BGS (250 miles). This is a seasonal position based in Delisle SK (20 minutes outside Saskatoon), and there is a possibility of staying on full-time over the winter for the right candidate.Duties may include:

  • assisting in unload/distribution of track material (rail, ties, spikes, plates, etc)
  • correcting deviations in track surface, alignment, and gauge
  • crossing repair work
  • culvert repair work
  • weed/grass trimming
  • maintenance of switches
  • operation of tools and/or equipment
  • upkeep of sidings
The successful applicant must:
  • have a strong work ethic
  • willing to keep an open mind (tasks will not be the same every day)
  • be committed to working safely and responsibly
  • willing to work in a positive, respectful environment
  • be a team player, willing to pull their weight to get the job done
  • railroad and/or agricultural background is an asset
  • have a valid drivers licence
