Job Description

Our commitment to service, excellence, innovation, and integrity will drive us to be North America #39;s leading infrastructure solutions provider.We are seeking a dedicated Structural Engineer to join our team in Delta, BC. As a Structural Engineer at Marcon Metalfab, you will take a senior role in our team of engineers and assist in the design and detailing of steel structures, steel connections, and concrete anchor design. Your responsibilities will include ensuring compliance with Canadian Building and Material Codes, providing expert insights into building design and construction in steel and concrete, and employing structural analysis, finite element analysis, and detailing software for project execution. Additionally, you will be required to seal drawings and conduct field reviews of completed work.Key Responsibilities:

  • Management of the engineering team.
  • Design of structures to the relevant design code (CSA S16-14, S6-19amp; BC building code).
  • Design and detailing of bolted and welded steel connections.
  • Assisting with design of bridge components such as bearings and expansion joints.
  • Seal drawings as required as the Engineer of Record (EOR).
  • Conduct field reviews of completed work.
  • Assist and provide input in preparing quotes.
  • Assist with research and development of new products.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proficiency with Canadian Building and Material Codes.
  • Expertise in building design and construction in steel and concrete.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis, finite element analysis, and detailing software.
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling and CAD.
  • Demonstrate written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Supervision and leadership skills (ability to direct a team, exceptional performance with regards to all aspects of communication, proven ability to delegate work, good judgment and ability to make good decisions, ability to mentor and steward individuals, effectively deliver performance feedback).
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Required Training and Experience:
  • Degree in civil engineering.
  • Minimum of 8 years design experience.
  • Must be registered as a Professional Engineer with Engineers and Geoscientists BC.
  • Structural steel deign experience.
  • Bridge design experience will be beneficial.
