If you are looking for interesting and challenging work, at a company committed to its people, find out more about what Aviso Wealth has to offer at www.aviso.ca.The Opportunity:We’re looking for a Director to join our new Corporate Sustainability team at Aviso.This role can be mostly remote, however we will on occasion require you to come onsite to our office at 1111 West Georgia St, Vancouver, BC.Reporting to the VP, Corporate Sustainability, the Director is the second in command on the Corporate Sustainability team and plays a key role in ensuring Aviso meets its sustainability ambitions. The Director will, in conjunction with the VP Corporate Sustainability, help shape Aviso’s sustainability strategy, and will in turn lead its implementation through the development of a program that undertakes activities in support of the organization’s sustainability objectives.In doing so, the Director will collaborate with senior leaders across Aviso to ensure these objectives are realistic, achievable, aligned with business priorities and have progress against these objectives tracked and reported. In undertaking these tasks, the Director will be supported by the Manager, Corporate Sustainability, who is a direct report. Who you are:

What your day looks like:You are a highly organized sustainability professional with a strong track record of managing programs and achieving and tracking results. Your value is focused on creating a clear, manageable, and trackable program for implementing Aviso’s Corporate Sustainability strategy and will encompass the following accountabilities:
  • Build and manage a defined program that supports the implementation of Aviso’s sustainability goals and ambitions
  • Coordinate and consolidate, with the support of the Manager, Corporate Sustainability, the gathering, analysis, and evaluation of data related to identified sustainability gaps
  • Ensure compliance with relevant sustainability reporting standards, laws, and regulations, and stay up-to-date with changes in sustainability-focused legislation
  • Identify, highlight and address sustainability-related risks and incorporate responses to those risks into the Corporate Sustainability program
  • Partner with the NEI Responsible Investment team to establish relevant key performance indicators (KPIs) and targets required to assess the effectiveness of Aviso’s Corporate Sustainability program
  • Integrate Aviso’s Corporate Sustainability program into the Diligent ESG reporting platform
  • Collaborate with the VP, Corporate Sustainability, in preparing and submitting regular program updates for presentation to the Corporate Sustainability Committee, Executive Committee and the Aviso Board
  • Actively participate in the production of the annual Aviso Corporate Sustainability Report
RequirementsYour experience and skills:
  • Bachelor or Master’s degree with a focus on sustainability, corporate responsibility or a similar field of study
  • 10 to 15 years in progressive project or program leadership roles in the sustainability space
  • Proven capability in, and understanding all aspects of corporate sustainability
  • Exceptional project and program management to support input, engagement and consensus
  • Business mindset and understanding and appreciation of corporate goals and considerations
  • Experience in using technology-based reporting platforms
  • Understanding of the regulatory landscape around sustainability/ESG reporting
  • Ability to understand, develop and implement sustainability-related data, measures and targets to align with strategic goals
  • Knowledge of the finance industry and competitive issues and developments that impact our lines of business beyond sustainability considerations
  • Fluent communication skills in English are required and bilingual skills in French are an asset
  • Project Management training and/or certification an asset
