Your Opportunity:Alberta Health Services (AHS) has an exciting opportunity to join the Alberta Kidney Care-North Program as a Nurse Practitioner in the Nephrology Vascular Access Department in Edmonton, Alberta. The Nurse Practitioner assesses /manages all Nephrology patients for Vascular access creation and Peritoneal Dialysis catheter insertion. The Alberta Kidney Care North Vascular Access Nurse Pracitioner provides expertise in specialized care for patients in Northern Alberta, Northeast British Columbia and the NWT. Alberta Kidney Care North Nurse Practitioners are respected and highly valued for their contributions to continuity of care as part of the multidisciplinary team in a patient and family centered care environment. You will be responsible for integrating clinical skills associated with nursing and medicine to assess, diagnose, order, and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatment, and perform procedures to manage and meet the health needs of patients. Additionally, you will utilize advanced practice nursing competencies related to Clinical Practice, Leadership and Optimizing Health Systems, Education, and Research to increase care quality, promote appropriate use of health services, and inform and influence healthcare systems.
