Job Description

  • Completion of Grade 12 or higher or equivalent
  • Experience and/or training using ice resurfacers, tractors or other related equipment of similar size and complexity is required. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered
  • Knowledge of safety precautions and hazards related to assigned work
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as on a team
  • Ability to understand verbal and written instructions, and communicate in a professional way
  • Ability to safely perform light to heavy manual labour for extended periods of time under various weather and environmental conditions
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize and multitask
  • Competent computer skills, including knowledge of Google Applications (Docs, Sheets and Sites)
  • Compliance with the City of Edmonton #39;s safety standards for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is a requirement for this position
  • Valid Intermediate First Aid and CPR Level C is required at the time of hire
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 driver #39;s licence (or provincial equivalent) is required at time of hire. Obtaining and maintaining a City Driver #39;s permit is a requirement of this position
  • Hire is dependent on Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Check satisfactory to the City of Edmonton, and there may be a cost associated with this requirement
