Job Description

Queen Margarets Schoolhas an opening for a Technology Lead, to start as soon as possible.Reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations, the Technology Lead works in collaboration with the AV Coordinator and the Educational Technology Coordinator to provide comprehensive information technology solutions for Queen Margarets School. The Technology Lead will work with staff and stakeholders to oversee the implementation of enterprise IT systems to improve technology for students and staff, focusing on service quality and best-of-class technology integration.We are seeking a positive thinker who can help refresh and grow our IT strategy, improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our IT services, and use their collaborative approach and hands-on style to manage the day-to-day IT operations. ResponsibilitiesOversee the maintenance of all QMS systems and operating system updates, patches, and application updatesLead and manage all technological aspects of the Schools technology solutions and services as well as evaluatePartner with key stakeholders across the organization to develop solutions for IT needs.In collaboration with the Educational Technology Coordinator, review and analyze educational requirements and requests for software and hardware to develop solutions for IT needsIn collaboration with the AV Coordinator, review and analyze AV requirements and requests for software and hardware to develop solutions for AV needsWorking with the Director of Finance and Operations, outline and execute IT strategy, priorities, and roadmap and create and implement plans to address IT needs, including but not limited to, infrastructure, applications, budgeting, and vendor contract and project managementWorking with the Director of Finance and Operations, develop a data and file management protocol for school files and back-upsOversee the development, design, and implementation of new applications and changes to existing computer systems and software packagesManage mobile and VoIP phone systems, Internet connections, camera systems, wireless networks for all building and locations.Maintain an accurate inventory of the IT equipment and assets of the School, including their location, staff assignment, software and hardware versions and utilization, and serial numbers and warranty statusMaintain security aspects of the IT infrastructure, including audits, vulnerability tests, compliance data gathering, and other security related tasks as appropriateIn collaboration with the Educational Technology Coordinator and the AV Coordinator, manage the IT help desk, including ticketing systems and adherence to service levelsIn collaboration with HR, ensure users are trained on Office 365 and other applications, equipment, and ongoing user support and problem solving.In conjunction with the Director of Finance e and Operations, research and recommend best practices and policies for risk management related to IT use by staff and studentsDesirable Knowledge,Knowledge of key Windows Server core functions like Active Directory, Group Policy Management, DHCP, DNS, Radius, File Server, Print Services, Certificate Services, Federation Services, IIS, Remote Desktop, and Volume Licensing.Knowledge of hybrid environment configurations pairing Active Directory to Azure Active Directory and Google WorkspaceKnowledge of enterprise networking including VLAN configuration, firewall policy maintenance, web filters, and more on Fortinet firewalls and Dell network switches.Knowledge of VMWare virtualization and familiarity with venter and ESXIKnowledge of Desktop operation systems ranging from Windows 10 to macOS and some Chrome OS, as well as Desktop applications, including but not limited to Office 365 apps, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, Air Parrot, and Zoom.Flexibility to learn or provide knowledge of departmental enterprise applications including but not limited to Sage 300, Donor Perfect, Follett Destiny, My Blueprint, See-Saw, and Xibo Digital Display.Flexibility to learn or provide knowledge of Asset Management tools.Flexibility to learn or provide knowledge of scripting for Windows Deployment Services via Microsoft Deployment ToolkitThe following Skills, and Abilities are also desirable for this position:Minimum of five years related experience in the Information Technology industry, with experience working in a highly functional teamFamiliarity with strategic and long-term planning with theability to evaluate emerging technologies for development of long-range plansFamiliarity with goal setting, budget management, and IT infrastructureExperience with analytics or reporting engines, particularly SQL Server Reporting ServicesKnowledge of and experience with managing Microsoft Office 365, Windows Server, Windows 1after-hourst Office Products, Windows and Mac hardware and softwareExperience in ensuring reliability and efficiencies from outsourced infrastructure and network operationsMotivated, self-starter, able to work independently.Ability to provide helpdesk support on various IT matters related to the school IT infrastructure, application, and integration support.Ability to work with ITSM tools to ensure the accuracy of asset management and user management in multiple systemsAbility to reach out to vendors for troubleshooting and procurementActs as a coordinator on projects around the campus relating to IT infrastructure and application integrationProvide and develop reference guides for end-user and admin use, as well as creating and maintaining IT policies used organization-wideAbility to work under time pressure to meet deadlines, balance work priorities, and resolve problems in a timely mannerAbility to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams and external business unitsDemonstrated understanding of working in an environment with a variety of constituents (students, parents, vendors, faculty, board of governors, alumni) from many cultural backgroundsDemonstrated understanding of confidentiality of informationWorking Conditions:All applicants for this position will be expected to have a Criminal Record Check initiated by Queen Margarets School.Position will provide after hours support in certain circumstances where emergency repairs are needed, or when upgrades & repairs need to be scheduled during off hoursGenerally works in an office environmentScheduling and completion of project work outside of regular office hours may be requiredAttendance at school and community events outside of
