With locations in Simcoe, Grey and Essex Counties as well as the Niagara Region, Walker Aggregates operates eight quarries, eight sand & gravel pits and two asphalt plants.The materials produced at our quarries, pits and asphalt plants are used to build Ontario’s infrastructure, which is the foundation of our economy – including roads, bridges, underground infrastructure, sidewalks, houses, schools and hospitals.Plant OperatorWe’re looking for a plant operator to work at our Duntroon Quarry.In this role, you’ll operate heavy equipment such as plant loaders and trucks, and do regular and preventative maintenance on equipment.Our best plant operators are easy to get along with, level headed, and mechanically inclined. They enjoy the work and the positive culture at Walker. If that sounds like you, you’ll fit right in.Typical hours are Monday to Friday, morning and/or afternoon shifts, with occasional Saturdays. Total package includes an attractive hourly wage, full group benefits, a pension plan, and many other industry-leading Walker perks.Qualifications

  • At least a year’s experience as a plant operator
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Experience as a heavy equipment operator an asset
  • Welder/welding experience is an asset
  • Common core training is an asset
