With locations in Simcoe, Grey Bruce and Essex Counties as well as the Niagara Region, Walker Aggregates operates eight quarries, eight sand & gravel pits and two asphalt plantsThe materials produced at our quarries, pits and asphalt plants are used to build Ontario’s infrastructure, which is the foundation of our economy – including roads, bridges, underground infrastructure, sidewalks, houses, schools and hospitals.Production SupervisorWe are looking for a Production Supervisor to work at our Duntroon Quarry.In this role you will supervise the daily activities of the processing plants to process and/or manufacture company products. The Production Supervisor ensures the plants operate smoothly and comply with health and safety and environmental legislation, policies and procedures while producing high quality products.Key Responsibilities

  • Manages production schedules to ensure that sufficient inventories are available to meet sales requirements.
  • Provides routine inspection of machines and equipment to ensure systems are operating at optimum levels.
  • Prepares time cards for all workers on site and submits them to payroll for processing. Follows up with individuals and payroll to resolve any discrepancies.
  • Prepares daily production reports for submission to Quarry Superintendent. Explains any significant variance to expected results.
  • Supervises subcontractors and consultants engaged for plant or facility construction or modification.
  • Gains insight and knowledge into the efficient operation of the site, by consulting co-workers and supervisors and attending training and development courses and seminars. Makes recommendations for improvement where practical.
  • Assists with the purchase of all plant parts and consumables to ensure adequate inventory of parts are available for maintenance personnel.
  • Assists with budget preparation and monitors costs within the limits of the budget.
  • Participates in and promotes safety and environmental awareness training.
  • Provides supervision to team of production workers to ensure that work is done accurately and efficiently. Provides guidance and motivation, to maintain and enhance competency levels and identify future training requirements.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Two (2) year college diploma (C.E.T. or civil engineering an asset).
  • At least two (2) years of production and supervisory experience or other relevant experience.
  • Valid G Ontario Drivers License.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and oversee the routine workload of a small team and provide constructive performance feedback.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to identify, analyze and resolve problems.
